What a custom web application delivers

For Soli Infratechnik GmbH we built one digital workflow for hundreds of technicians and subcontractors across Germany: 12 branches, 700+ employees, one application in which every job is visible from assignment to completion. For Swishfund we built a client portal on a microservices architecture, connected to three banking platforms. Two very different organisations, the same principle: the application follows the process, not the other way around.

A web application rarely stands on its own. Much of the value sits in the connection to what you already have: your accounting package, your CRM, your planning system. That is why we build API integrations that let data flow automatically instead of being retyped - with proper error handling and monitoring, so a failing connection never causes silent data problems.

What does it cost to build a web application?

That depends on the scope, and sharpening the scope is where we start. The discovery sprint has a fixed two-week timeline and ends with a budget for what comes next. From there we build in small, budget-controlled steps: after each one, you decide whether and how to continue. After the first conversation you will know where you stand.

Custom build or an off-the-shelf package?

If an off-the-shelf package or SaaS product covers your needs well, we will say so - you will be up and running faster and cheaper. Custom software pays off when your process is what sets you apart, or when you notice you are bending your way of working to fit the software. We have that conversation honestly during discovery.

How long does building a web application take?

The discovery sprint takes two weeks and delivers a clickable prototype. How long the build takes after that depends on the scope - but we always work in short iterations with a new release every two weeks, so you have something working early instead of waiting months for a single delivery.

Who owns the code, and how is security handled?

The code we build for you is yours - you are never locked in to us. Security is part of the foundation: encrypted connections, careful access control and automated tests that run with every release. We also build applications in domains where this weighs heavily, such as financial services.

What happens after launch?

That is when it really starts. The same team that built the application stays responsible for monitoring, maintenance and further development. Many of our client relationships span years - ten with Soli Infratechnik, eight with Swishfund. An application that keeps growing keeps delivering value.

Can it connect to the systems we already use?

Yes - that is almost always part of the work. We connect web applications to accounting packages, CRMs, planning systems and banking platforms, with proper error handling and monitoring. For Swishfund, for example, we connected three banking platforms to the client portal.
